Did you input an inaccurate date of birth when registering for your National Identity Number (NIN)? Or did you discover the error in the birthdate after printing a copy of your prototype?
Making mistakes when applying for a NIN is normal for many people. Luckily, there is a simple solution for you.
The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has advised the public that those who have entered false information for their National Identity Number can now update it in the NIMC database. Enrolling in the NIN is free, however, there are costs for extra services, including address updates, card renewals, and date of birth modifications.
Any registration process that requires your NIN will be negatively affected if your date of birth is incorrect. Therefore, you should change your NIN’s birthdate as soon as possible. In this article, we will show you how to change your date of birth on NIN.

Hello Sir,
I am writing to formally request that my National Identity Number (NIN) record be changed with my new birth date. My NIN is 123456789.
The current date of birth on file in the system is June 15, 1900. My actual birthdate, however, is May 15, 1900.

I humbly request that you update my NIN record to reflect May 15, 1900 as my true birthdate.
